THE COASTAL DISCOVERY MUSEUM AT HONEY HORN

Welcome to the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn. The Museum relocated here in October 2007 and has become a favorite Hilton Head Island attraction. This 68-acre Honey Horn property is owned by the Town of Hilton Head Island and leased by the Coastal Discovery Museum. It is one of the few remaining open spaces on the Island, free from future development for generations to come.

At the Discovery House you will find the Museum’s registration desk for guided walks, programs and events, permanent and temporary exhibits, Kids’ Zone, gift store and community meeting room. On site, you will find numerous historic structures (most dating from the 1930s), a mile long shell pathway leading to educational boardwalks. Among the other discoveries at Honey Horn, you will see the Karen Wertheimer Butterfly Enclosure, the Heritage Crops Garden, the Mary Ann Peeples Pavilion, a Camellia Garden (with over 120 varieties) and interpretive panels.
