ECO TOUR

Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025 — 2 to 3:30 pm

A unique opportunity to cruise the scenic Okatie River aboard the Oldfield Belle, guided by Captain Leann, Master Naturalist and Assistant Director of the Outfitters Center at Oldfield Club. You'll explore this tidal river, an estuary of the Port Royal Sound that spans Beaufort and Jasper counties, and discover the beauty and biodiversity of our local saltmarsh ecosystem. Take in the serene Beaufort landscapes and enjoy an enriching experience on the water, while connecting with fellow members.

Our second annual pre-Thanksgiving Sip & Shop will feature a curated selection of local artwork, jewelry, ornaments, books, Gullah sweetgrass baskets, and unique gifts that celebrate the Lowcountry. Enjoy specially-made treats and vintages while you work on your holiday shopping list.

Camellias are a stunning winter-blooming flower with a rich history and timeless beauty. Discover their story and learn the delicate art of preserving their blooms. Select your own camellia from the Manske Camellia Garden — home to over 135 varieties and proudly featured on the American Camellia Trail. Then, head indoors for a workshop where you’ll master the technique of flower waxing, preserving your camellia (and a few other blooms) to take home and enjoy.

This hands-on experience gives members and a guest the chance to safely meet a variety of fascinating animals. Encounter reptiles like snakes, baby alligators and turtles. Explore the world of marine invertebrates, such as horseshoe crabs and hermit crabs. Learn fun facts, ask questions, and maybe even hold a critter or two!

Perfect for curious minds of all ages—come discover the wild side of nature! This is an exclusive and unique event for members of the Coastal Discovery Museum.
