The Coastal Discovery Museum has offered educational and interactive programs to regional schools and youth-related organizations for 35 years and counting – reaching, teaching, and inspiring students to care for the Lowcountry. These programs engage students in hands-on, experiential learning through programs aligned to many of South Carolina’s Curriculum Standards.

Historic sites are becoming popular for weddings and receptions, family reunions, church picnics, celebrations for birthdays and anniversaries as well as corporate photo shoots or commercials. When planning your next big event, consider the Museum’s historic Honey Horn venue which can accommodate groups of all sizes. At Honey Horn, you will find a venue with a unique Lowcountry feel in a natural setting under 300–400-year-old Virginia live oaks, draped in Spanish moss overlooking a scenic salt marsh. This historic 68-acre property offers a variety of unique sites including a 4,000 square foot covered pavilion and a terrace with fountain overlooking Jarvis Creek.
