Birds of Prey
Dates: Wednesdays, 6/18, 7/2, 7/16, 7/30, 8/13, 8/27
Programs at 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM
Description: Observe a red-tailed hawk, screech owls and a Mississippi Kite up close. Learn how to identify the different raptors, how they survive in our world and the important role they play in our environment. No birds will be flown.

Evening Turtle Talk and Walk
Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6/03/2008 - 8/28/2008
Time 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Location: given at time of reservation
Hilton Head Island, SC
Description: An evening lecture and beach walk to educate participants about the threatened loggerhead sea turtle. Presentation to entire group and then 2 groups of 10 proceed to the beach to examine the nesting habitat and nest sites. No guarantee of turtle sightings.

Get to Know a Gator - (every Thursday June 12 through August 28, 2008)
This program from Gatorland will feature a live alligator. You will learn about their habits, folklore, and have an opportunity to have your picture taken with a gator.
Programs are held from 9:30am, 11:30am and 2pm.
Pre-Paid Reservations required.

Animals of the Lowcountry -
(Select Wednesdays from June 11 and 25, Jul 9 and 23, and August 6 and 20, 2008) A variety
of lowcountry animals will be on display and you can
learn about their habits during the "Animals from the Lowcountry" series
at The Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn. Scheduled to appear from Oatland Island Education
Center are: barred owl, screech owl, alligator, corn
snake, gopher tortoise, toad, opossum or legless lizard. Participants will
have the opportunity to not only see these animals, but take photos of
them as well!
Programs at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. are scheduled for June 11 and 25, Jul 9 and 23, and August 6 and 20

Nature Discovery Camp – (Tuesdays
June 17th thru August 12th)
A day camp experience at Honey Horn for those ages 6-12. Each
week there is a different theme based on history or natural history,
as art projects are created, walks along the marsh are taken and learning
from experts in various fields.
Cost is $35 per child, afternoon snack
included; from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Reservations are required
by calling 843-689-6767 ext 223.
