COSTA RICA January 17,
through 30th 2002 Costa Rica is often referred to as the world's model
for natural preservation. It is also one of the few places in the world that
offers such an incredible diversity of scenery and climate in an area as small
as West Virginia. Our tour covers this diversity and is designed to appeal to
those who really want to experience tropical nature at its finest without
"roughing it". We'll visit the capital of San Jose and from there tour Poas
Volcano and the renowned Cafe' Britt Coffee Plantation.
Then we'll go
to Tortuguero on the Caribbean coast. Caymans, monkeys, sloths, toucans,
manatees, jaguars, and 405 species of birds abound in the
area. From Tortugero we're off to the Pacific coast and a highlight few
experience. We'll spend 3 nights at Casa Corcovado jungle Lodge bordering,
Corcovado National Park which has been called the best National Park in the
world by the National Geographic Society. Birders will have a field day with
the variety of species. Scarlet Macaws are but one of Corcovado's specialties.
All 3 of Costa Rica's Monkey species are also present. You may even hear a
Jaguar!
Clem (from Migrations Travel) visited this sanctuary
last year and rates it as one of the highlights of his travel experiences.
We'll also visit Cano Island, a paradise for snorkelers. Our tour moves on to
Manuel Antonio National Park, & Carara National Park. We'll also visit a
Butterfly Farm where many species are exported to museums around the world.
Don't miss this tour. This is nature at it's best at the best time of the year!
